Keryx Prison Ministry
Statement of Faith

1.  We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.

2.  We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3.  We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His
miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily
resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in
power and glory.

4.  We believe in the forgiveness of sin, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.

5.  We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Chippewa Area Keryx is one of five local councils affiliated with the Keryx Michigan Prison Ministry, a 501(c)3 organization.

Guidelines for the team while at the Keryx

Be first in the chapel each morning.

You are a leader. . .please be one while in the chapel praying and while singing.

Please be punctual for everything.

Be with the candidates at all times, except before and after your talk.

Try to keep the subject matter on the talks during the walks and at the meals.

Take as many notes as you can, to set an example.

It is customary to make a chapel visit before and after your talk.

Practice being a good listener.

Table workers should not leave the table at the same time.  (don't let your table get away from you.)

Do not congregate with other team members in the meeting room, on walks, in the chapel, or at meals. . .spread out.

If a candidate has a problem see the co-rector, who will get the candidate to see a spiritual director.

Do not study your talk at Keryx.  Your full time there is needed for the men/women.

Don't be secretive.  If you want to speak to the rector or the spiritual director, don't give the impression that you're plotting against the candidates.

Don't return to your table until the discussion is concluded on your talk.

Cha-cho's/servant's sit at the dinner table with the candidates and go on walks, unless assigned a job.

Start with "God bless you" right away.

When there is a question in your mind. . .use common sense.

No movement in community room during discussion (only serving coffee, etc.)

No movement in meeting room during the talk's.

Table leader handles chapel visit and explaining prayer support group. 

As soon as you arrive at the meeting room for the beginning of the Keryx. . .mingle with the candidates.

Table workers shouldn't speak at decuria's, but can hold the posters.

A little competition is good Friday. . .better Saturday, but don't overdo it.

Table workers don't worry about cha-cho / servant's. . .and. . .vice versa!

Abrazo introduced during Saturday morning chapel.

Commitment sheets will be filled out after the hang in there discussion is over on Sunday.

Don't wear your watch to Keryx.

Remember. . .work as if everything depended on you. . .and pray as if everything depended upon him. .
